CAN ANYONE INSTALL YOU DRYWALL PLUGS?
Anyone who has common sense and basic skills can use our product. The individual should be confident with using a cutting tool and be able to hold on to a trowel. Those qualities should cover most adults male & female, young and seasoned in years. The Drywall Plug was designed to make drywall repairs simple for the non-professional to use and still get professional results WHY IS THE DRYWALL PLUG BETTER THAN PATCHES? Unlike paper or metal patches, the Drywall Plug is a true permanent repair. It fixes drywall with real drywall. There is no cracking and the damaged area can be used as it was originally intended. The Drywall Plug is the only product that can return the structural integrity back to the damaged area. Although some products claim to be a permanent repair, no other product on the market is truly made of drywall. This is not a quick temporary fix, this is a quick permanent drywall repair that can support a picture, a mirror or even a towel rack just like it would before it was damaged.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER WAYS YOUR PLUG CAN BE USED FOR?
Yes. When plumbing is an issue and a pipe may need to be tightened or repaired, the 6-7/8in plug is great for opening up the wall, making the plumbing repair and closing it back up quick and easy. The same goes for running wires behind walls for home theaters, intercom systems, telephone wires, security systems and much more.
WHAT PROFESSIONAL WOULD CONSIDER USING DRYWALL PLUGS?
It has been reported that plugs have been used by electricians, insulation blowers, phone companies, cable companies, sound technicians, landlords, property management companies, college maintenance dept., handymen, plumbers, painters, roofing companies, home remodelers, house flippers and exterminators.
HOW LONG DO I WAIT TO ADD THE TOP COAT ONCE THE PLUG IS IN THE WALL?
You don’t wait. As soon as you have installed the Drywall Plug and the paper is flush against the wall, IMMEDIATELY apply the top coat. The smoother you apply the compound the less sanding you have to do when it dries. Make sure you cover the “ENTIRE” paper circle. The Drywall Plug was meant for a ONE step installation.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “COMPOUND” VS. “PASTE OR SPACKLE”?
Paste or Spackle is designed to act as a “filler”. It’s mainly designed to fill small holes made by nails or shallow scratches and depressions. “COMPOUND” is what is used for drywall installation/repair by all major contractors who work with drywall. One big reason Spackle became popular is because most Do-It-Yourselfers wanted something that didn’t take as long as compound to dry. However, nothing beats the smooth finish and great look compound gives in large area applications. When you use compound, the Drywall Plug brings back the structural integrity in the damaged area. The repair will become as solid as it was BEFORE the damage was made. It is truly the only “PERMANENT” drywall repair product on the market.
NOTE: For those who need a “QUICK” repair, use 20 MINUTE JOINT COMPOUND. Repairs can be made and finished in less than ONE HOUR, depending on experience and conditions.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DRYWALL PLUG (BLUE) AND THE FIREGUARD DRYWALL PLUG (RED)?
The BLUE packaged Drywall Plug is made of 1/2″ drywall. This is mostly commonly used for residential wall and ceiling repairs. The FIREGUARD Drywall Plug is made of 5/8″ drywall and used where a fire wall is damaged. Places in a home may be the garage or ceiling between the lower level and upper floor of a multi-story home. Commercial buildings, elevator shafts, hospitals, dorms, schools, hotels, etc. have firewalls that must maintain a specified fire rating. Using the FIREGUARD Drywall Plug will allow a quick “permanent” repair that “MAINTAINS” the fire rating without the costly stud to stud repair. So the difference is:
BLUE = Residential Drywall Plug for typical drywall repairs
RED = Firewall repairs that need to maintain the fire rating
